Solric / Field guide / v1.0
Make the trade-offs discussable.
Solric is a transparent weighted decision worksheet. It helps structure judgment rather than replace it.
Scoring alternatives
Enter a name and three numeric ratings on each line, separated by vertical bars. Value means usefulness or benefit. Speed means how quickly the option can deliver value. Confidence means your confidence in successful execution. Use 1–5; higher is better in every column.
Weighted scoring
Weights are normalized by their sum. Score = 100 × (value × value weight + speed × speed weight + confidence × confidence weight) ÷ (5 × total weight). The resulting 0–100 scale is a preference score, not probability.
Sensitivity scenarios
The worksheet evaluates equal weights and three scenarios that add 25 weight points to one criterion. This samples a few alternative priorities; it is not an exhaustive sensitivity analysis. Ties are shown explicitly.
Hard constraints
The tool cannot determine whether an option satisfies a written constraint. Review feasibility separately, exclude failing options, and then rerun the comparison. A favorable average score must not override a hard requirement.
Make the memo useful
Add assumptions, a premortem, and what you plan to test next. Export the memo for discussion. Revisit the score when new evidence changes your judgments.
Working privately
All calculations and text processing happen in your browser. No model calls are made. Save draft is optional and stores a copy on this device; use Clear draft to remove it. Exports are generated locally. Avoid keeping private drafts on a shared computer.
Take your work with you
Markdown exports are readable project documents. JSON exports include inputs and results for a reproducible handoff. Print / PDF opens your browser’s print dialog with a clean report layout.
